Merry Movie-Goers

There are lots of fun things to do on holiday break, and one of these is going to see movies. This holiday break marks a number of notable releases, such as the following;

La La Land (PG-13) out December 16th, is a romantic comedy and features Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as the main characters, playing the roles of an aspiring actress and jazz-musician-in-waiting who fall in love while singing songs about their lives.

Collateral Beauty (PG-13), a drama that is also out December 16th, stars Will Smith, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and others, where a man who suffers a great tragedy and ultimately withdraws from his life; to cope, he writes a series of letters to Love, Time and Death and receives unexpected answers.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (PG-13), out December 16th as well, is set in the Star Wars universe, but is not directly involved with the saga; it portrays a group of individuals, including Felicity Jones and other notable names, who seek to steal the blueprints of the Death Star, and because of this, change the course of the future.

Assassin’s Creed (PG-13), out December 21st, is loosely based on the popular video game series of the same name and is about Callum Lynch, a man who, through certain technological advances, experiences the memories of his ancestor, Aguilar, from 15th century Spain as an “Assassin,” someone who seeks peace through one’s own free will instead of control, like their enemies.

Passengers (PG-13), out December 21st, stars Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence in a sci-fi thriller about a man and a woman in a futuristic society who awaken 90 years too early from hibernation on a ship floating through space, where a multitude of other passengers still lie unscathed, and begin to fall for each other before realizing the ship, along with their lives and everyone else’s aboard, are in danger.

Sing (PG), also out December 21st, is a children’s comedy about talking animals who enter a singing competition, determined to win the glory.
